Sapore Italiano Fine Dining

Sapore Italiano, one of the newer additions to fine cuisine in West Cape May, is classic homemade Italian food using both fresh and local ingredients. Located in one of the oldest homes in this Seaside Resort, the renovated dining room has intimate seating and crisp white cloths adorning their tables. Keeping with tradition, both the original mantle and fireplace still exist, for fireside dining during the winter months. It is tradition that sets the tone for the offerings at Sapore Italiano. The menu begins with Antipasti to include Cozze Posillipe, mussels sauted with garlic, extra virgin olive oil in a white wine or red tomato sauce. The entrée selections are categorized into Carne, Pollo and Pesce with classics like Rack of Lamb, sautéed with shittake mushrooms, roasted red peppers with asparagus in a cognac demi-glaze sauce or Pollo alla Saltimbocca, Chicken cutlet topped with prosciutto, spinach and mozzarella cheese in a white wine demi-glaze sauce.

Then there is the pasta, or the “real Italian pasta” as Chef Perparim Bici likes to call it. “Rimi” as he is known to most, has included on his menu Capellini alla Positano, pasta sautéed with crabmeat, extra virgin olive oil, garlic and capers in white wine tomato sauce or Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola, homemade potato pasta with gorgonzola and mascarpone, cream cheese sauce. Having always dreamed of opening his own restaurant, Rimi hails from another local favorite, La Fontana in Sea Isle City. With Sapore Italiano, this Chef’s dream has truly become a reality. He has raised the bar high for authentic Italian cuisine. Sapore Italiano has become a favorite among those living on and visiting the Island.
