Sal's Ristorante & Pizzeria

Sal’s Ristorante and Pizzeria is a little bit of Brooklyn and a lot of Sicily mixed together to create a delightful Italian restaurant filled with great food and family fun. Cecilia’s family owned Sal’s for 25 years when Cecilia and Giuseppe took over. They now have owned the restaurant for 13 years, and along with their three children, are dedicated to making sure you experience a memorable Italian style meal.

When they moved from Sicily to Brooklyn, New York, they started a Pizzeria restaurant which they own and operate today. Living and working in Brooklyn is hard, and to be successful there, your pizza must stand out from the crowd. It must be special, and so Giuseppe and Cecilia set out to make the perfect pizza from recipes learned in Palermo, from family members and other restaurant owner friends. You will not find this unique blending of culinary influences anywhere else on the island.

About eight years ago, Cecilia decided to open a Gelateria next to the restaurant. So she consulted her sister and brother-in-law who have owned a Gelateria in Italy for over 40 years. Her sister Carolina and husband Francesco happily shared their recipes for homemade Gelato Artigianale with Cecilia. Every time she goes back to Italy to visit with friends she acquires new recipes to add to her impressive collection.
