Birding Lecture: “Caught in Monhegan’s Trap”

Join Brett Ewald, Director of Cape May Bird Observatory and author of The Birds of Monhegan, as he discusses his experiences birding and leading tours on this unique island.

Lower Township Spring Fling    

Saturday, Mar. 30 from 9 to 12 p.m.    

Freeman Douglass Park, 676 Shore Rd, Lower Township   

The Recreation Department will have a Spring fling along with an Easter Egg hunt on March 23rd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Freeman Douglas Park on Rt 9.  There will be a stilt walker, inflatables, balloon artist, face painters, music, donuts, and coffee free of charge. Come out and have some fun. 

6hr Mini Pelagic Trip with the Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center 

Saturday, Mar. 30 from 12 to 6 p.m. 

Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center  

The cruise will focus on exploring the inshore Pelagic Zone (approx. 3-20 miles) off Cape May, NJ for Pelagic Birds and Marine Mammals. Marine Mammal Naturalists from Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center with our expert Pelagic Bird Naturalists from the Cape May Bird Observatory and will guide you through spotting and photographing the amazing wildlife Cape May has to offer! Cost is $85 and the trip is for ages 13+. 

Cape May Point State Park Egg Hunt 

Saturday, Mar. 30 at 1 p.m. 

We are hosting our first ever Easter Scavenger/Egg hunt! Meet at the park office to check in – we will have a private egg hunt in the trees for children 2 to 6 years old. Eggs with candy and prizes. 

Children 7 – 12 years old will have a scavenger/egg hunt on the trail with treats treasures and prizes. Eggs filled with candy or seashells, scavenge for prizes and treasures and treats. Limit of 30 children per group reserve early; call (609) 8842159 

Corson’s Inlet Dog Hike 

Saturday, Mar. 30 from 12 to 2 p.m.

Come take a 2+ mile pawsitively fun walk with Meg and her springers! Meet at the Boat Ramp side of Corson’s located off Ocean Drive. “Go” before you go- sanitation units are NOT onsite yet. Dogs must be leashed. Dog waste must be picked up- but Megan will hold on to it and throw it away! Shoes are optional; this event is weather permitting. 

Cape May Egg Hunt  

Saturday, March 30 at 11 a.m. 

714 Beach Ave, Cape May 

Children will hunt for hidden Easter eggs containing Easter treats. The lucky winner in each age group who finds the Golden Egg will receive a special prize. Ages include Toddler to age 10. No Rain Date.

Enjoy Easter Sunday in the heart of Cape May as people of all ages show off their Easter best at Cape May’s annual Easter Fashion Stroll in Rotary Park, just off the Washington Street Mall. Judging categories and age groups include ages 3 and younger, ages 4 to 6, ages 7 to 9, ages 10 to 12, ages 13 and older, best dressed lady, best dressed man, best dressed couple, best dressed family, and best Easter bonnet. Registration for judging begins at noon.

Solar Eclipse Countdown Event 

Monday, April 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. 

Avalon Free Public Library, 235 32nd St. 

Participants will learn the best, and safest, ways to view the eclipse, and receive a brief overview of astronomy, from the South Jersey Astronomy Club. While this program is geared towards teens and adults, children with an interest in astronomy, and who are comfortable sitting through a lecture are welcome to join!
