Cape May is home to some of the most renowned and historic beaches, from Higbee Beach to Poverty Beach. Stretching approximately two miles along Beach Avenue all of Cape May’s beaches are family-friendly, clean, and close to restrooms, dining and accommodations.

2018 Beach Tag Fees

  • Seasonal - $28
  • Weekly - $18
  • 3-day - $12
  • Daily - $6
  • Active military and immediate family, and veterans - free

When Beach Tags Are Required

Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for ages 12 and up

Where to Purchase Beach Tags

  • City Hall Tax Office, 643 Washington St. (no holidays)
  • By mail (seasonal tags only): Visit, download the beach tag order form and send a check or cash to the City Hall Tax Office; flat $4 shipping fee per order, or $11 for Canada orders; maximum of five seasonal tags per individual
  • Weekly, 3-day and daily beach tags can only be purchased on the beach

Lifeguards on Duty

10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.


  • Metered parking is available along the beachfront
  • Free parking is located several blocks in on smaller side streets
